Esterline Memtron Input Components to acquire Duraswitch

Frankenmuth, Michigan, October 24, 2008 – Memtron Input Components, a business unit of Esterline Corporation’s Interface Technologies Group (NYSE:ESL) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Duraswitch, a business unit of InPlay Technologies, Inc. based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mark Maxson, General Manager of Memtron Input Components said of the acquisition. “Duraswitch brings the opportunity for increased development of complementing products and new applications. Memtron has long been a leader in applications development using Duraswitch technology and this acquisition is a natural fit for both companies. It allows for increased resources and flexibility in quickly moving projects from concept to market.” Maxson went on to say that “the Duraswitch technology will continue to be available to all existing customers through channels they have learned to trust.”

Duraswitch holds several patents related to human interface devices that incorporate a unique design utilizing magnetically coupled armatures, rotors, and other components that offer long life and customizable switching solutions. In addition to a significant level of intellectual property, Duraswitch also is recognized for having strong supplier relationships and a long established name within the user interface market.
